Folded Star Mini-Class
Come learn how to make a Folded Star Centerpiece. Friday, January 27, 2-4 p.m. You don’t even have to bring your sewing machine! Very little sewing required so you can use one at the shop. Call ahead to make reservations and for supplies needed. 307-334-9963.
Upcoming Classes
Easy Jelly Roll Quilt Class
Wednesday, February 1, 10 to 4. All you need to choose is which jelly roll you are going to use. All the fabric coordination is done for you! This class is easy enough for the beginning quilter, but fun for more advanced quilters too. This will be the first in a series of Wednesday classes for beginning quilters. Come to one or all. Stop in or call for details.
Sew Simple Attic Windows Class:
Thursday, February 9, 10 to 4. This class teaches you to make a traditional quilt pattern in a new and simplified way that every level of quilter will enjoy. Contact store for supply list.
T-Shirt Quilt Class
Do you have a collection of T-shirts commemorating various events or activities hiding in a drawer? Get them out and make a fun, warm, useful quilt! The technique we use makes this a class appropriate for the beginning through more advanced quilter. Contact store for details and to reserve a space. Time to be arranged.
UFO CONTEST
Most of us have unfinished projects lurking in our closets that we would love to have finished. Use this contest for motivation to get ‘em out and get ‘em finished! Make a list of the projects you have started, bring it into the store by February 15 to register. As you finish a project, bring it into the store. We will check it off and you will get to choose a prize from our treasure chest. (remember how fun it was to pick a prize from the treasure chest when you were a kid and went to the dentist?) The participant who finishes the most projects will win the grand prize. Projects must either be cut out or started stitching to qualify.
Super Bowl Super Sale
Coming up February 4. We are planning a fun day of demos, mini classes, and specials the day before the Super Bowl. Details will be coming out next week.
Block of the Month Programs:
Two block of the month programs are being organized at Lickety Stitch. Sign up for one or both.
Bella Verona
We are very excited to be offering our first Block of the Month program with the Bella Verona Quilt. (click to see high-resolution picture of the quilt)
The Bella Verona features an Italian-inspired textural palette designed by Wing and a Prayer Design. This queen-size quilt uses basic tools and piecing methods. Varying bock sizes ranging from 4” to 10” combine to create a beautiful quilt resembling Italian tile work. The fabric is on order and should be here in February, we will start the program as soon as possible after it arrives. Contact the shop to reserve your kit. All participants are invited to come into Lickety Stitch on open-sew days to work on their blocks and get help as needed. 12 month program.
$25 registration fee includes the pattern and instructions ($30 value)

Our second Block of the Month offering is the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt. The Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt, a delightful book by Laurie Aaron Hird, contains a collection of letters from 1920 farm wives and the 111 quilt blocks they inspired. The Block of the Month Program will include the book and fabric for the blocks, sashing and binding. Each month you will receive patterns and instructions for 8 blocks. The fourteenth month you will also receive fabric for sashing and binding. Fabrics may vary depending on availability but will be quilt-shop quality traditional colors and prints in the style of the quilt shown in the book. This is a great chance to learn some new skills. Doing two 6” blocks a week, you will complete blocks for a queen-size quilt, 83” x 103”, in 14 months. Some blocks are very easy, some more challenging. We plan to establish a time each week for a Farmer’s Wife Quilt Club to meet at the store and work on blocks.
