Fall 2024 Quilt 'Til You Wilt Retreat

Join us for a 3-day  retreat dedicated to sewing, quilting, and crafting. This is a great opportunity to step away from the distractions of daily living to focus on whatever project you have been dreaming about.  Plan to shop at Lickety Stitch Quilts  to get all the supplies you need. Pick up a new project, a kit, or the sashing and borders for those blocks you have in a stack in your sewing room!  Attack those UFO's, especially the ones you need some advice or help with, as experienced quilters will be there to advise you.  Enjoy the energy and camaraderie of our sewing community.  Space is limited.

Fall 2024 Quilt Til You Wilt Retreat – Sponsored by Lickety Stitch Quilts

Where it is at:

Niobrara County Fair Building

4080 US Hwy 20, Lusk, WY

Dates and times:

Session 1 is Monday and Tuesday, September 23 and 24 from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday, September 25 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Session 2 is Thursday and Friday, September 26 and 27 from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, September 28, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Set Up Times:

For those of you coming for the first session, the doors to the Fair Building will be open from 6-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, so you can check in and unload your machines and supplies into the building and get set up if you so desire. You may also check in after 8 a.m. Monday morning. For those of you coming for the second session, you may bring your machines and supplies from 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25 or after 8 the next morning.  If you are staying for both retreats you will not need to remove your things between them, of course.

Things to bring:

Please bring a long extension cord as some tables are quite far from the outlets. If you have more than one item to plug in - like irons, lights, etc, you will want to have a cord with multiple outlets.

The chairs provided are metal folding chairs so we suggest bringing your own favorite sewing chair or a cushion to make yourself more comfortable. Although the lighting is adequate, you may choose to bring a table sewing light if you feel it would be helpful. There will be several irons and ironing boards scattered around the room to share. You may bring your own iron and ironing board if you choose.

Also remember your sewing machine, the cord and foot pedal to your machine plus all the necessary sewing and cutting notions you will need as well as fabric and supplies for your projects.

Some meals are being catered and some will be brought in from local eateries. Three noon meals and two evening meals will be provided each session. (No evening meals on Wednesday or Saturday.) PLEASE NOTE:  We are unable to provide for special or restricted diets. This means if you are salt restricted, gluten or lactose free, or otherwise dietarily restricted that some or all the meals may not fit in with your diet as there is bread, pasta, etc. included in most meals.  However, if you are on a special or restricted diet, you may bring your own food and there will be room in the refrigerator to store it. We also have a grocery store in town where you can purchase what you need.   Water, iced tea, hot tea, and coffee will available during the day. Snacks will be available, and you are welcome to bring your own or some to share. No breakfast will be served. We are asking everyone to bring their own reusable water bottle/cup to cut down on the need for disposable plastic bottles.  We will have water available for refilling your container, but not in plastic bottles.

Our retreats offer a great opportunity to work on and finish those projects you have dreamed of, planned, or started. However, we have found that some of you like to have an organized group-project/class to participate in and we will be offering a couple of  projects each session for you to participate in. These plans are still being decided upon and will be sent out nearer the date.

As always, we have several extra activities planned - our popular Sample Spree Give-away, and we are working on arranging other special events and they will be announced as soon as we get plans finalized.

Registration procedure:

A release of liability form will be presented to each participant to sign at the registration desk when you arrive. We request everyone wear a name tag and tags with lanyards will be provided. However, if you have a name tag of your own you prefer, please feel free to wear it.

No smoking, vaping, or tobacco is allowed in the Fairgrounds building. Please bring ear buds if you wish to listen to music. We try to keep the temperature comfortable for everyone but bring a jacket or sweater as there are areas in the building that are cooler than others. Also, due to sensitivities to fragrances and essential oils by some of our attendees, please do not wear strong fragrances or diffuse any oils or scents during the retreat.  Please do not use scented soap or Best Press type of liquids at the retreat as it has  been a problem at former retreats for people who have allergies.

Because of space constraints with a large number of attendees, we will not be able to accommodate unpaid guests for either meals or as visitors in the building.    Thanks for your understanding!

There may be changes between now and September– we will keep everyone who is registered updated as we can. We will be assigning tables and want to accommodate groups as much as possible.  In order to do this, we need to know who would like to be seated together so put that information in the comments section when you sign up.  We will do our best to seat groups together, with 4 being the maximum at a table group.

Reservations will be accepted until all seats are filled, then a waiting list will be available online.  We will contact those on the list in order of their signing up, so it is important to sign up as soon as possible.  Seats will be limited.  Full payment of $157.50 is required to reserve a seat, which includes a $7.50 non-refundable booking fee.

The registration less the  $7.50 will be refunded if you notify us you are unable to attend BEFORE RETREAT STARTS.  Refunds can only be made to the credit card to which they are originally charged unless they are paid for by cash or check.

If you are coming from out of town and need motel reservations, our first choice is Best Western Pioneer Motel at 307-334-2640 or Town House Motel at 307-334-2376.  We always have great reviews from our customers on the rooms, service, and breakfasts they provide.  There are 3 other motels in town with rooms available also which have garnered mixed reviews from our attendees.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone! Call if you have questions
