Free Block of the Month Days
Jane and I often comment that we have so much fun here at Lickety Stitch, we ALMOST feel guilty calling it "going to work!" Part of our "job" is thinking up ways to make every visit here a great experience for our customers. We order fabric, plan events and classes, arrange on-going programs, sales, and even displays hoping you will do the happy dance every time you get a chance to visit Lickety Stitch Quilts. We want you to finish your shopping feeling on top of the world, inspired, motivated, and eager to return again as soon as possible. We know you have a lot of choices where to shop for your fabric and supplies. We are honored when you choose to shop with us, and we don't take it lightly - we want to be your very favorite quilt store. We work hard to earn your loyalty - but we love our job!

A New Way to Applique Class
Spend a morning at Lickety Stitch and learn a new type of applique: free-motion sketch applique. Included in the class is the Sweet Tweets, Simple Stitches, Whimsical Birds book by Erin Cox,. We will use her methods to applique whimsical birds (or Scottie Dogs!) on the project of your choice. A tea towel will be provided - but you can bring another fabric if you want to use your applique for another project like a quilt or wall hanging. This method of applique is whimsical and inexact. The charm is that it appears the figures are sketched with thread - and it is quick and easy. Cost of the class is $29 and includes the Sweet Tweets - Simple Stitches, Whimsical Birds book by Erin Cox ($19.99 value) and a tea towel to embellish. For more information or to sign up click here.
Which Sewing-Embroidery Machine Is Right For You?
Is there a new sewing machine in your future? When you think of all the years you are going to be using and enjoying your machine, consider the features you really want and need carefully. If you haven't updated for quite awhile, you will be pleasantly surprised with how much a modern machine can do to make your sewing experience more enjoyable, easier, and your projects come out more professional. A few features that I wouldn't want to live without are: automatic needle stop up or down; automatic needle threader; automatic thread trimmer; a wide selections of needle positions from the left to center to the right within the pressure foot. These are just a few of the features we can show you on the Bernina and Babylock machines in stock at Lickety Stitch. If we don't have the model you want, we can order it in for you. Come in for a consultation to consider how you are going to use your machine, then let us help you choose exactly the one that meets your needs. Consider a machine that has embroidery capabilities - the Bernina 770 Quilters Edition is great at quilting in the hoop. It does a beautiful job!
