Excitement is building here at Lickety Stitch Quilts as we look forward to the coming weekend and the arrival of our QTYW guests. Are you getting your supplies rounded up and projects planned so you have plenty to work on for 3 full days of sewing? We hope so! The weather is improving daily and the forecast is for sunshine and warming temperatures for the rest of the week - Spring really is coming, folks! Roads into Lusk have been cleared and we have confidence that those of you coming from the Casper and Cheyenne directions will soon see the interstates opened with opportunity to dry off in the next two days so you can safely travel.
Doors at the Fairgrounds will open at 9 on Friday morning for moving in and setting up your machines. We will have a check-in area with a liability release form for everyone to sign as you come in. We do not require masks but leave the choice to each individual. There is plenty of room in the building for social distancing. Hand sanitizer will be available around the room We ask each of you to responsibly consider your own health before you come, as we will not be doing any temperatures or health monitoring on site.
Remember to bring your sewing machine (who could forget that?), your foot pedal and cords (yes, probably someone will forget those - don't let it be you!), attachments you may need, sewing supplies, projects, and please bring a long extension cord. A power strip with multiple outlets is a good idea, also.
The chairs are metal folding chairs and you may wish you had a cushion to soften yours - or throw in your favorite sewing chair if you have space. Bring a sewing lamp if you have one and think it would be helpful.
Mark your tools so you can go home with what you came with.
Each sewer will have an 8-ft table space.
If you choose to bring a treat to share, please bring the recipe, too!
Bring something for show-and-tell on Friday evening if you like. We will also have an exchange table so bring UFO's you no longer want, fabric you no longer love, extra supplies you would like to rehome...books, patterns, and tools you are done with - bring some and take some. It is always fun to exchange things you may be tired of for something new-to-you!
We are SO looking forward to your coming. We know you are looking forward to it also. Digging out of the snow may provide an extra challenge to getting here, but it is going to be worth it!
